LatAm Market in Bristol

We went to check out the Latin American market in St Paul’s, Bristol, an event that has only run once before, to see what was happening. The event was run by Latin American Community Support CIC Bristol boasts a small but not insignificant latin population, but it is perhaps not very well known by locals or maybe even Latinos in Bristol and the surrounding area. One thing you can be sure of when South Americans are involved, there is going to be noise, colour and a general good vibe.

So we rocked up a little early for the event, while people were just setting up their stalls, like the crazy, wild individuals that we are. Mainly due to the lack of expected traffic that Bristol usually deals us, but I suppose it was a Sunday so not that surprising really. We chatted to the stall owners from Colombia, and had a coffee while we were waiting. After a quick walk around we had already scoped out the Paella stall and we will come to that later.

The coffee was nice, no doubt hand-picked from the foothills of the Colombian Andes. They also sold empanadas, something everyone should try as they are like a mini cornish pasty, made with corn instead of normal pastry.

Paella

I mentioned Paella before. It cannot be overstated how tasty this was. Well worth forking out those extra pennies for. Big recommendation for the Paella stand.
